The main point first: we do not set cookies. We do not embed fonts, maps, videos or analytics services from third-party servers. There are no advertising networks and no user profile. That is why you will find no consent banner here — there is nothing to consent to.

Visiting the website
When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data to the server hosting this website. These are stored in what are known as server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- name and address of the file retrieved
- browser and operating system used
- the previously visited page, if transmitted
Without this data a website cannot technically be delivered. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in secure and trouble-free operation. This data is not combined with any other data.
Hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. For users in the European Union, GitHub B.V., Amsterdam, Netherlands, acts as the provider's responsible entity.
Data may also be transferred to the USA in the process. GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The transfer is therefore based on Article 45 GDPR in conjunction with the adequacy decision of the European Commission, and additionally on standard contractual clauses under Article 46 GDPR.
Enquiry form
The form on the home page does not transmit your entries via this website. When you click "Send enquiry", your own email program opens with a prepared message. Your data only reaches us once you send that email yourself — by exactly the same route as if you had written to us by hand. No data is stored or processed on this website in the process.
Enquiries by email
When you write to us, we process the details you provide — usually your name, company, email address, travel dates, number of guests and your message — solely in order to deal with your enquiry.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry is aimed at a contract, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with and no statutory retention periods stand in the way. If a booking comes about, the commercial and tax retention periods of six and ten years respectively apply to invoices and receipts.
Consent and cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own accord. Cookies only arise if you load the booking calendar — it comes from our booking system and needs them to hold your selections together during the booking process.
That is why we ask beforehand. Only when you click "Load calendar" is a connection to that provider established at all. If you click "Continue without calendar", nothing happens — you can still enquire about the apartment using the form or by email.
The legal basis for storing and reading the cookies is your consent under section 25(1) TDDDG, and for the subsequent processing of your data, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Withdrawing consent
You can change your decision at any time: through the Cookie settings link at the foot of the home page — or directly here. After withdrawal the calendar is no longer loaded. Withdrawal takes effect for the future; what was transferred beforehand is unaffected.

What is stored without consent
Your decision itself — a "yes" or a "no" — is remembered by your browser in its local storage, so that we do not have to ask you again on every visit. This entry never leaves your device and contains nothing about you. It is strictly necessary under section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and therefore requires no consent. If you clear the site data in your browser, it is gone.
Online booking
Online booking runs through our booking system Hostaway. It is operated by Hostaway Opco Oy, a company under Finnish law (registration number 3472936-9). Hostaway works for us as a processor on the basis of a contract under Article 28 GDPR.
The calendar is embedded in our page as a window onto an external site. As soon as you load it, Hostaway receives your IP address, details of your browser and device, and the information about which page you opened. If you actually book, the booking data is added: name, address, email address, telephone number, travel dates and number of guests.
The legal basis for handling the booking is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of the accommodation contract. For loading the calendar and the cookies set in the process, it is your consent.
Where data is processed outside the European Union in the process, this is based on the safeguards agreed in the data processing agreement, in particular standard contractual clauses under Article 46 GDPR.
Payment
Payment is handled by a payment service provider integrated into the booking system. You enter your card details there; we ourselves neither see nor store them. We only receive the information whether and in what amount payment was made. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Retention
We keep booking data for as long as it is needed to handle the booking. For invoices and receipts, the commercial and tax retention periods of six and ten years respectively apply thereafter.
Booking
No online booking engine is currently embedded. Enquiries reach us solely through the form or by email. As soon as online booking is set up, this section will be extended to cover the booking and payment service providers and the data processed there.
Booking portals
If you book the apartment through Booking.com or Airbnb, the privacy terms of the respective portal apply to the booking process. We receive from them the data necessary for the accommodation.
Your rights
You have the right at any time to information about the data stored about you, and to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, as well as a right to object to processing based on a legitimate interest. An informal email is enough.
